I Need to Get Caught Up!

Hi Blogger Friends!

It's been a couple days... I've been living in a foggier state than usual because I have been fighting this darn cold.  I know I have lots of blogs to catch up on, and I'm looking forward to reading race reports from those of you who did races this past weekend.

I am sorry if I haven't been by your blog to stalk catch up with you.  I know you all know how busy life gets sometimes.

Anyway, here are some really quick thoughts from me:
  • I'm thinking of pushing the giveaway ending date up to Wednesday.  I'm so excited about sharing some of my favorite things, that I don't want to wait until January 31.
  • I ran four miles with my running group on Saturday.  I was my usual slow self but it was a nice coastal run.
  • I'm thinking of getting a shirt made that says, "Don't talk to me.  I'm running!"  Seriously! I know people mean well when they try to strike up a conversation while running but I really, really prefer to run alone (even in a group).  I like to listen to my music, go at my own pace, and concentrate on my run.  It's my "alone" time.
  • The Surf City Half Marathon is in less than two weeks!  I'm excited!  I don't expect to wow myself or anyone else but I've been looking forward to this since last May when I had my husband and kids buy my race entry for my Mother's Day present.
  • I need to go to bed since I'm hoping to get in an early morning run before work tomorrow.  Hoping that I'll feel well enough to get myself out of bed and do it, that is!

Good night!  I'm going to get caught up tomorrow.  Promise!
Well, as much as I can promise anything.

Hi Sara, i can't believe you don't like to chat while running! I picture you to be a very chatty runner. Funny, Tall Mom just had a post on this.
4 miles is great, did everything feel good? I hope your cold is getting better, and the weather. you guys got some pretty crazy weather, right? Have a nice day!

Get better!!!

I'm a "loner" too when I run. It's a great time to think about whatever I want to think about. Sometime life "stuff", sometimes just concentrating on my form, breathing, pace, etc.

Take care.

i enjoy talking when running. my husband doesn't. most of the running group does. to each his own, i guess!

Hope that cold is gone for good!
I am a silent, introspective runner. It is my time to reflect, enjoy nature, etc.

I totally agree about the running and chatting. I am very specific on who I run with and when I run with somone. I prefer to run on my own because it's the only "me" time I have.

Hope you feel better and GET UP in the morning. I know that can be so tough. I too to run with someone but not talk....just blurt out encouragemebt every once in awhile. It's also a great time with God's beauty around you.

Thanks for the warning, I wouldn't want you to punch me in the nose if I chatted while we ran together...JK! But I do like to chat when I run...just up until I start a faster pace and then it's impossible but it helps the time pass for me! I'm foggy today too...maybe it's the weather? I bet you're excited for Surf City!

Hope your day is going well and you had a chance to get ober to the fuel pack give away. How's preschool going?
Two Weeks? Wowzers!!

Sorry you are not feeling well.

you know what is FUNNY, I would make a shirt that says "Talk to me!" I am becoming an overly social buddy runner and I love it. The miles pass so much quicker with someone to talk to.

Hugs!

I would like to talk while running but I am always alone during my workouts.

I'm the EXACT same way with the talking. Same thing if I'm in an airplane. No chitchat.

Get well soon!

I've been running with a group on the weekends, and I'm still getting used to it. Not sure about the whole talking thing either, especially since I have to turn my ipod on and off to talk!
Sounds like a great run! I don't like to talk either. I listen to my ipod and that's what keeps me going. Hope you feel better soon!
