Give it some rest time, maybe cross train and I'm sure the little super cute kitty will need some attention!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-18774998959561053502009-04-02T15:52:00.000-07:002009-04-02T15:52:00.000-07:00Nuts! I'm sorry the knee is still being difficult.

On the food thing -- yes, I eat every super fattening, unhealthy thing I can get my hands on when I'm on the DL. If you do end up seeing a physical therapist first, hopefully they can recommend exercises to strengthen/make the pain go away.joyRuNhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03033973041471006513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-76768235354363112542009-04-02T08:47:00.000-07:002009-04-02T08:47:00.000-07:00That's a beautiful cat!Re: your knee - stick to yo...That's a beautiful cat!

Re: your knee - stick to your guns. An ortho can/will give an accurate diagnosis. You should argue that without the accurate diagnosis, PT could do more damage - requiring longer recovery and the possibility of surgery. I'd give it a try!Glenn Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05119271602749821767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-72083858600150223072009-04-02T08:40:00.000-07:002009-04-02T08:40:00.000-07:00Ugh-- you're allowed to whine to us. But walking is a great option and so much easier on the knee.

Your new cat is beautiful-- and, of course I do the same thing with brownies. I think partially that when I'm bored I like to bake...if only I were entertained by making salads or roasting veggies!tfhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10735303292996192352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-13441997015651690792009-04-02T07:19:00.000-07:002009-04-02T07:19:00.000-07:00April fools!! I read the 30 Marathons thing and I though "How in the Monkey (I use Monkey instead of swearing) is she going to do that?"

Good luck with your knee!!! My knee has been holding up well so far from an ACL tear in 2001, I am still torn between full and 1/2 Marathon.

YES!! I eat like a PIG! I have never craved chocolate and hamburgers so much in my life. Thank goodness running burns calories.

Your post makes me want to get a bottle of wine on my way home. The orthopedic diagnosed my knee and gave me some injections. The PT used exercise therapy (and ice and a few other things) to fix the underlying cause (muscle imbalance). It definately helps to have someone who works with athletes or at least is sympathetic to your ambitions.

Givne your knee issues - it is a GREAT idea to plan to walk it. Running on a bad knee only worsened my problem. Had to fix it first, and now I'm running again (pain free, I might add!!)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03231464198799653331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-53872536485332223992009-04-02T02:00:00.000-07:002009-04-02T02:00:00.000-07:00Walking or running the marathon doesn't really mat...Walking or running the marathon doesn't really matter. As long as 1) you complete it before the allotted time; 2) You get a cool shirt for competing; and 3) Hopefully you get some cool "bling" after you complete it! Perhaps I can introduce your knee to my heel since they both have something in common!! Keep smiling, and good luck with whatever doctor you see.Marathonman101108https://www.blogger.com/profile/01653913024687849329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-45249642022237339922009-04-01T22:45:00.000-07:002009-04-01T22:45:00.000-07:00Sux about the knee...I came to the same conclusion...Sux about the knee...I came to the same conclusion about 1/2 marathons having run one. They're more my speed/style/ability.

I have no idea what the difference is between the two (an orthopedic specialist or a PT). I think the important thing is to see someone who works with athletes, and if you can get it, someone who works with runners.Aka Alicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09691390225208616675noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-82225589243260599252009-04-01T20:04:00.000-07:002009-04-01T20:04:00.000-07:00Sorry about the knee, hope the change of focus wil...Sorry about the knee, hope the change of focus will be better on the body and that you can still accomplish your goals! good luck, keeping my fingers crossed for you!Mel-2nd Chanceshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15040126521403230005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5111812121314241965.post-68449646469108409622009-04-01T19:43:00.000-07:002009-04-01T19:43:00.000-07:00Bummer on the knee! Good luck with walking the marathon.

I'm a big fan of the 10 mile to half marathon distance races.
